1. Approval of minutes from the October 9, 2007 Personnel meeting.

Action: Minutes approved as presented.

2. Consideration of new personnel request for fiscal year 2008/2009.

Action: Committee recommended to the Budget Committee hiring a full-time Assistant
in the Voter Registrars office. Other requests and upgrades were deferred.

3. Consideration to enter into closed session under Section 2.2-3711 (A) (1) of the Code of
Virginia, to discuss appointments to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the ASAP
Policy Board and the Citizens Advisory Committee.

4. Consideration of appointments.

Action: Committee recommended to the full board the following committee
appointments:
Parks & Rec Advisory Committee: Bob Goodier, Dave Faulkenstein and
Larry Hollar
Citizens Advisory Committee: Peter Jordan, Richard Walker, Deb Truban and
John Adamson,
ASAP Policy Board: Jim Allamong

5. Discussion regarding a proposal on Fire and Rescue staffing.

Action: Committee recommended to the full board the hiring of 8 additional FF/EMT
positions.

6. Consideration of a request for an intern in the GIS department.

Action: Item was deferred until the December Personnel Committee.

7. Other unfinished business items not under consideration at this time include:
Follow up discussion regarding holiday policy revisions.
Follow up discussion from March 1 meeting regarding Economic Development
and Tourism.

8. Adjournment - Meeting adjourned at 9:57am.
