1. Approval of minutes from the June 9, 2009 Personnel Committee meeting.
Action: Minutes approved as presented.

2. Discussion with Sheriff Carter about school resource officers.
Action: Committee recommended to the full board approval of the SRO pending review during the budget cycle.

3. Discussion with Sheriff Carter about replacing a jail clerk in the Sheriff’s Office.
Action: Committee recommended to the full board replacing the jail clerk after the 90 day Comp Board holding period, which would be December 1, 2009.

4. Discussion regarding part time staffing at the Library.
Action: No action taken. Discussion with Ms. Cathy Stuter included a request for part-time subs in the absence of custodial, catalogers & circulation desk clerks. Ms. Price stated it could be handled administratively since the part-time budget had already been pre-determined at budget time.

5. Request to enter into Closed Session under Section 2.2-3711 (A) (1) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss appointments to the Lord Fairfax EMS Council, Northwestern Community Services Board, Shenandoah Valley Partnership, People Incorporated of Virginia Board of Directors, Industrial Development Authority and the Board of Zoning Appeals.

6. Consideration of appointments.
Action: LFEMS and NWCSB appointments were deferred until the September Committee meeting.
SVP-the committee appointed Sharon Baroncelli to the partnership.
People Inc-the committee appointed Dennis Morris to serve
IDA-committee appointed Blake Phillips to serve the unexpired term of Greg George.
BZA-committee re-appointed Bob Fadely to the BZA.
