1. Approval of minutes from the January 9, 2007 Personnel meeting.

Action: Minutes approved with corrections.

Added Agenda Item 6-A Consideration of the permanent transplanting of a Norway Spruce Tree in front of the jail and Circuit Courthouse.

2. Consideration of appointments to the Library Board of Trustees.

Representatives from: District 2 - Donald Albright, District 3 - Beecher Bowers, District 4 and District 5.

Action: Committee recommended to the full board the following appointments:

  • Dist 2 Donald Albright; Dist 3 Jay Beecher Bowers; Dist 4 Jim Claytor; Dist 5

  • Nancy Hockman and suggested to Rob Pasco, Library Director to begin staggering the terms.

3. Consideration to appoint Peter Jordan as District 2 Citizens Advisory Committee member for the Comprehensive Plan to replace John Riffee.

Action: Committee recommended to the full board the appointment of Peter Jordan to the CAC.

4. Consideration to appoint Bob Goodier as Town of Mt. Jackson representative on the Recreation Advisory Committee.

Action: Committee recommended to the full board the appointment of Bob Goodier to the P&R Advisory Committee.

5. Consideration of a citizen appointment to the Disability Services Board.

Action: No Action, committee to return next month with a potential applicant.

6. Consideration to reappoint Mary Beth Price to the Disability Services Board.

Action: Committee recommended to the full board the re-appointment of Mary Price to the DSB.

6-A Consideration of the permanent transplanting of a Norway Spruce Tree by the Town of Woodstock in front of the Circuit Courthouse.

Action: Committee recommended to the full board the permanent placement based on Town Manager, Larry Bradford's verification that Miss Utility has authorized no utilities lines will be disturbed during the planting.

7. Consideration of revisions to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee by-laws.

Action: Committee recommended to the full board P&R By-Law revisions.

8. Consideration to participate in the VACO Risk Management web based training.

Action: Committee recommended to the Budget Committee participation in the VACO web training with Administrative guidelines and suggestions regarding limiting the number of participants and who should participate.

9. Discussion about splitting tourism and economic development.

Action: Committee asked County Administrator to evaluate the present structure of Tourism and Econ Development and to include a possible joint Agricultural / Economic Director.

10. Other Business

Future consideration:
Consideration of revisions to the holiday section of the Personnel Policy Manual.
