Planning and Zoning Applications Setback Requirements Fee Schedule Boards and Committees

The Planning & Zoning Office is responsible for reviewing development plans, processing various applications, updating the Comprehensive Plan, and providing technical assistance to the citizens of Shenandoah County. Our office provides staff support to the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Citizens Advisory Committee on the Comprehensive Plan, and the Agricultural & Forestal Advisory Committee. We process applications for zoning permits, home business permits, special use permits, subdivision plats, site plans, rezoning requests, text amendments, zoning variances, withdraws and additions to Agriculture & Forest Districts, land-disturbing permits, and pump & haul permits. In addition, we investigate zoning complaints and conduct site inspections to ensure county code compliance. Please feel free to contact our office if you have any questions or concerns.
