Mission Statement

The mission of the Office of the General Registrar is to provide opportunities,
in an equitable, courteous,professional and non-partisan manner, for all the
qualified citizens of Shenandoah County to register to vote; to promote
integrity of the electoral process by maintainingaccurate and current voter
registration records used in elections;to coordinate elections so they are
conducted in a manner that secures the qualified citizen’s right to vote; to
ensure that the election results accurately reflect the voter’s will; to be an
information resource for citizens and candidates regarding voter registration,
elections, and elected officials;and to conduct these activities in accordance
with the election laws of the United States Constitution
and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
